A Great First Day

So, we arrived in Fresno last night to pouring rain. However, when we got up this morning it was clear skies and the rain didn't pour once today. We were able to paint multiple bathrooms at World Impact, organize a shop, prepared and poured a concrete slab at a missionary home and did some yard work at a couple homes all in the morning. Then, this afternoon we split into teams and headed off to three communities to work with children. Our high school students led a "Bible Club" in each of the three communities for many of the local kids. It was great to see these high school students focused on loving the kids as they played games, led music, taught Bible stories, prayed in small groups and organized a craft time.

Everyone is healthy and safe and still full of energy. Please pray for tomorrow as we head off to help lead worship and kids programs in three local churches. We will also be serving food at a local shelter. Then, in the afternoon we will experience some "city life" as we head into downtown to get a taste of the local culture as we head out in "family groups" simulating an immigrant family.

Thank you so much for your prayers. We truly feel them as we are here in the city. The city can be so dark and hopeless at times but it is so encouraging to see these missionaries so faithful every day, year after year. It is a privilege to team up with them.

To God be the glory…

Adam (on behalf of the 2011 Fresno Team)
