First Day and Travel

Hello Friends, Family and Church:

So far the trip has been amazing. We have traveled (safely!) down to New Love Church and have already seen God beginning to work.

Right now all the students and leaders are passing out flyers to the community and praying for kids and families. I have watched the teams interact with many of the neighbors and pray for them outside their houses. It has been awesome to watch.

Before we arrived at New Love Church, our students were given a small amount of money to shop for their meals. In doing so, they got a taste of what it was like for low income families to have to plan their food on a budget. There is a lot of cup of soup and peanut butter and jelly to be eaten!

While in the store we were blessed by a stranger who was talking to Nicole about our group. He said, "Your students are so polite, so joyful and so well behaved. None of them are on their cell phones. They are very respectful." What a joy to begin our service with such awesome students.

Tonight we will eat the dinner we purchased on a budget, prepare for the Drama on stage and spend some time talking about expectations and experiences.
